Whole-account investment management under your agreed mandate. The terms below apply to the service you select and the account details supplied with it.
Definitions and interpretation #
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Platform | Idealx Platform Pty Ltd, ACN 694 912 126, ABN 83 694 912 126. “Idealx”, “we” and “us” refer to Platform for its services unless this document expressly identifies a different provider. |
| Client | the individual or legal entity identified as the account holder in the accepted application, including each trustee in its recorded capacity. “You” and “your” refer to that Client, except where this document expressly addresses an individual Console user or Firm. |
| MDA | a managed discretionary account service under an accepted Investment Program, allowing its properly appointed manager to make investment decisions within that program without approval of each trade. |
| MDA Provider | Trend Investor Services Proprietary Limited, AFSL 255475, when it has accepted the Client and the relevant MDA appointments are effective. It is not Idealx Securities merely because both services use Idealx. |
| Investment Program | the personalised MDA investment program supplied with the required advice and accepted mandate, recording the Client’s objectives, permitted investments, numerical limits, risks, fees and review arrangements. |
| Auto Pilot | the whole-eligible-account MDA service under the Auto Pilot Mandate. Only the legal account and assets identified in the Investment Program are included. |
| Managed Strategy | an MDA service restricted to a selected allocation and its attributable proceeds under its own Investment Program, rather than the whole account. |
| AP Team | the personnel and controlled systems appointed to manage Auto Pilot within the provider’s effective authorisations. It is not a separate legal contracting entity. |
| Net Managed Assets | the value of assets and cash within the managed scope less attributable investment liabilities, calculated consistently under the applicable valuation and fee rules. Unmanaged assets are excluded. |
| High-water Mark | the fee threshold protecting unrecovered investment losses, adjusted for capital flows and fee crystallisation under the Auto Pilot Fee Schedule. A market loss does not reset it. |
| SMSF | a self-managed superannuation fund. Its trustee or trustees act in the fund’s legal capacity and remain subject to applicable superannuation obligations. |
| ETF | an exchange-traded fund. Its product documents govern the underlying investment and its risks. |
| FX | foreign exchange: conversion between currencies. A valuation-only currency calculation is not itself an executed conversion. |
| API | an application programming interface used for supported connections to Idealx. It is subject to the same authority controls as other channels. |
| Non-limited-recourse product | a product under which the Client may be liable for more than the amount initially invested. It requires the applicable separate assessment, warnings and consent before use. |
A specific meaning or rule in the relevant service clause prevails over a general definition. References to an accepted schedule or record mean the version supplied for that service, not an undisclosed internal policy. Mandatory legal rights and obligations are not displaced by these definitions.
1. Objective and horizon #
Auto Pilot seeks long-term capital growth and total return through active management across permitted assets. A five-year or longer horizon is the starting profile, subject to personal suitability. It is not a savings account, guaranteed-growth product or capital guarantee.
2. Entire eligible account #
The mandate covers all eligible assets and available cash of the selected legal account, including accepted subsequent deposits and portfolio proceeds. Before activation, you receive a holdings inventory identifying managed, excluded, illiquid and unsupported assets, committed payments, pending orders and existing strategy allocations.
Individual, company, trust and SMSF accounts require separate capacity and authority. Future external accounts, another entity’s property and pre-committed settlement cash are not included merely because accessible under the same login. Unsupported holdings require an agreed transfer, sale or exclusion decision before activation.
3. Broad investment discretion #
Within the completed investment program, the AP Team may select, dispose of and replace investments; rotate across approved asset classes, regions, sectors and currencies; rebalance; reinvest; determine timing and order method; manage currency and liquidity; and allocate to approved strategies. No fixed strategic allocation is promised unless the client-specific program sets one.
Permitted categories may include listed equities, ETFs, approved fund interests, fixed income, deposits and cash, FX, approved derivatives and approved digital-asset exposures. Mention of a category does not activate it. The approved universe, eligibility, position and counterparty limits must be documented before use. Holding up to 100% cash temporarily may be permitted by the completed program; there is no obligation to remain fully invested.
4. Required risk settings #
The Investment Program states maximum single-issuer and sector exposures; gross and net exposure limits; permitted derivative purposes; margin and liquidity reserves; currency limits; digital-asset cap; illiquid-asset cap; approved counterparties; and review/breach procedures. Blank limits mean the relevant discretionary power is unavailable, not unlimited.
Borrowing, naked short positions and non-limited-recourse exposures are not enabled by the general mandate. They need separate express settings and consents. Direct crypto, staking and lending are not presumed authorised by the CAR. No client property is used to fund Idealx’s own business.
5. Trading control and client rights #
While active, only the properly appointed management team and controlled execution systems may initiate investment instructions within the managed scope. Portal, Console, API and Atlas AI enforce the same restriction. Other delegates cannot override it through another channel.
Clients can view, download, change security settings, update their circumstances, contribute, raise complaints and request withdrawals or termination. Incoming deposits follow the approved funding rules; scheduled payments and third-party transfers require explicit review so management does not consume committed cash.
6. Activation and transition #
The client receives advice, the completed mandate and disclosures, sees current assets and the fee summary, accepts the specific MDA documents and receives provider confirmation. Activation can involve selling existing assets with tax and transaction consequences. Ordinary registration or receiving a notification does not switch Auto Pilot on.
Existing self-directed strategy allocations must be mapped, exited or expressly incorporated before activation; eliminate overlapping instructions and fees. If Auto Pilot is unsuitable, do not activate it.
7. Exit and fee treatment #
A Stop management request starts an orderly handover and does not automatically liquidate the portfolio. A cash-withdrawal request separately specifies the amount and currency. Idealx explains pending settlement, non-transferable positions, necessary closing actions and expected completion. Manual trading resumes for assets released from management and any conflicting obligations.
Management fees stop for assets when discretionary management ends, no later than their release from the managed service. Passive assets remaining solely because of provider processing or transfer delay do not attract continuing management fees. Any separately agreed external custody or transfer costs must be disclosed. Performance fees crystallise only under Idealx Auto Pilot Fee Schedule, without resetting loss protection merely because the client switches off and on.
8. Fees and acceptance #
Auto Pilot: 0.99% p.a. management fee plus 15% of qualifying net profits above a 5% annual hard hurdle and the adjusted high-water mark. No dollar cap. Rates include GST where applicable. Idealx Auto Pilot Fee Schedule governs calculations, exclusions and examples. No additional 0.20% platform strategy fee applies on the same managed assets.
By selecting Enable Auto Pilot after accepting the linked MDA terms, Investment Program and fee schedule, you authorise management of the selected account within that mandate. Manual investment instructions are restricted while management is active. You retain the withdrawal, termination, information and security rights in clause 5. Returns are not guaranteed.
